the most distressing part is that it’s so easy

trekwho:

to not be racist/ableist/etc

it’s so easy to hear someone go “hey, that’s icky, please stop” and actually stop

but she’s so wrapped up in her latest ingenious art bomb that such things just don’t seem relevant or important next to the “big glorious picture”

and i’m sorry amanda/amanda’s friends/lady gaga/every artist who has done problematic shit

your artistic passion and career is important to you, and to your fans, but it doesn’t get to override important shit like this

and it’s not like they’re idiots, they really should know better

but in the end it’s the guy next to her wearing the racist headdress but the whole ensemble is wearing matador-esque outfits

i really wonder what goes through her head when she sees her friend put on the headdress

does it not occur to her that that’s a bad thing?

is she too busy thinking about something else to object?

in the end though

there are so many other hats you could wear seriously

I’m troubled by the matador-esque outfits as well. And that she tweeted they’ll try kimonos tomorrow.Cultures, not costumes, Amanda…
